Solunar rates very high, so the nearshore Gulf is prime territory today — king mackerel, bonita, hardtail, cigs and yellowtail snapper are all showing, with the deeper zones and structure the places to work. The 11:06 AM high is the main window. The one thing to discuss with your operator is the 50 percent rain chance and the possibility of thunderstorms; open water is no place to be when one develops. Henderson Beach Surf Fishing
With 1.3 ft surf, low rip risk and no purple flag, wading the trough is straightforward again after two days of elevated risk. Spanish mackerel hold predictable positions near the inshore structure, working the current edges along the beachfront. Very high solunar activity means fish should stay cooperative through most daylight hours rather than only at the edges of the day. The 8:39 PM low is the latest of the three. Destin has no municipal pier, so the beach and the boats are the options, and neither offers shelter from lightning.
