This is the first moderate rating in over a week, and it comes on a busy Saturday, so it is worth taking at face value even though the surf looks modest.
Swim near a lifeguard, stay within your depth, and keep clear of piers, jetties and groins where currents concentrate. If you are caught in one, do not swim against it: swim parallel to shore until you are out of the pull, then come in at an angle. Pompano are working the beach wash and nearshore troughs, with ladyfish around the pier pilings and trough edges and hardtail at the pier ends and current breaks. Sunday brings showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 1 PM, around a 70 percent chance, with rip current risk staying at moderate and surf around 2 feet. Monday is sunnier with highs near 88°F and a 40 percent rain chance, though moderate rip risk holds through the day before easing back to low Monday night. From midweek high pressure builds, rain chances drop and conditions settle, with surf back to around a foot. The extended period shows warming through early September on the usual pattern of calm mornings and afternoon activity.
