Light southeast winds at 6 mph with 1.6 ft seas. This is clean water after recent blows, and the calendar is average by solunar standards, but the pier has been seeing solid action during the tide swings — particularly around the morning high at 9:17 AM.
What's Biting Today
Spanish Mackerel — Working through the pier on Got-Cha plugs and small spoons. Best window is the 9:17 AM high tide into early afternoon.
Pompano — Holding in the shallow beach troughs. Target them with live or frozen sand fleas worked along the first gut. Early morning and evening are prime.
Bluefish — Running with the Spanish at the pier. Same plugs and spoons that take the mackerel will get them.
Bonita — Mixed in with the Spanish when they move through. Not every cast, but present.
Cigs — Cruising the pier with the Spanish schools.
Best times to fish today: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM.
Pier Report
Pier hours: contact Navarre Beach Marine Park for current hours. Spanish mackerel and bluefish are the main event right now — both species are moving through in schools, especially on the incoming tide. Pompano are lighting up the beach early and late. Fair fishing overall, nothing exceptional, but the conditions are clean and pleasant.
