Hardtail — Running alongside the mackerel along the beaches and near pier structures. Present through daylight hours with reliable response in shallow to intermediate depths over sandy bottom.
Ladyfish — Mixed through the shallows at all three beaches, with consistent presence around pier structure and sandbars. Predictable action in the shallow troughs all day.
King Mackerel — Out in deeper water offshore and near the deeper troughs. Boat access or extended pier reach is what opens this one up; target deeper features where current concentrates.
Bluefish — Mixed with the other species in deeper water, around offshore structure and the deeper beach troughs. A mixed-bag contributor rather than a target in its own right today.
Best approach today: fish the early high tide and work the falling water through the afternoon as structure comes uncovered.

Every beach peaks at or before dawn and falls for roughly twelve hours into the evening. Pensacola tops out first at 1.98 ft at 4:21 AM, then Navarre at 1.95 ft at 5:43 AM and Destin at 0.88 ft at 6:58 AM. All three lows go negative: −0.33 ft at 4:51 PM at Pensacola, −0.20 ft at 5:41 PM at Navarre and −0.03 ft at 6:42 PM at Destin. Water below the tidal datum means cuts, sandbars and structure will be exposed further than usual through the late afternoon and evening — a real advantage for reading the beach and marking spots for the days ahead.
