Spanish Mackerel — The primary target again and the most consistent choice across all three beaches. Work pier ends, deeper troughs and the cuts where water concentrates. Early morning around the high tide is the window.
Hardtail — Running alongside the mackerel near pier structures and over sandy bottom. Present through the day in shallow to intermediate depths.
King Mackerel — Holding in deeper water offshore and near the deeper troughs. Boat access or extended pier reach is what opens this one up — and today's flat water makes the ride out an easy one.
Ladyfish — Mixed through the shallows at all three beaches, with consistent presence around pier structure and sandbars.
Bluefish — Mixed with the other species around offshore structure and the deeper beach troughs. A mixed-bag contributor rather than a target in its own right.
Black Drum and Redfish — Closer to the beach around structure, passes and protected shoreline. Worth targeting where moving water concentrates forage.
Best approach today: fish the morning high and go lighter than usual — flat clear water means fish see more too.

Destin
No municipal pier here, so it is East Pass charters or surf fishing at Henderson Beach. Flat water and 5 mph winds make for an easy run offshore, where king mackerel are the draw. From the beach, Spanish mackerel and hardtail work the cuts and sandbars, with bluefish and ladyfish mixed in.
