Fair — Work the Tide Windows

Calm surf and warm water carry into Sunday across Navarre Beach, Pensacola Beach and Destin, but low solunar and a high afternoon storm chance keep the rating at fair. Light southeast winds of 5–10 mph and 1–2 ft seas make it easy to cover water and spot moving fish — the trick today is timing the tide and getting out ahead of the storms. Spanish mackerel remain the most dependable target.

What's Biting Today

Spanish mackerel — the most reliable bite, holding at the pier ends and along the beach. Fast-moving spoons, Gotcha plugs, and cigar minnows on light leader are the standard approach.

Bonita (little tunny) — cruising the deeper troughs and off the pier ends. They hit fast-retrieved shiny lures and cut bait, and put up a strong fight on light tackle.

Hardtail (blue runner) — scattered around structure and the beach, both a target and reliable live bait for anything bigger working the ends.

Cigar minnows (cigs) — schooling the pier ends on sabiki rigs, worth loading up on early for bait.

Best times to fish today: early morning before storms build and around the midday-to-afternoon high tides — roughly 12:06 PM at Navarre, 2:43 PM at Destin, and 3:16 PM at Pensacola.

Pier & Pass Report

Navarre Beach Fishing Pier — calm green-flag surf makes for easy fishing, with Spanish mackerel and cigs working the ends. A purple flag is up for jellyfish, so mind your line and footing along the sand.

Pensacola Beach Gulf Pier — similar setup, green flag with a purple marine-life flag. Spanish mackerel and bonita off the end on moving water; jellyfish are present, so use caution landing fish.

Destin — East Pass & Henderson Beach — no municipal pier here. The East Pass is calm and workable for charters early, and Henderson Beach offers light-surf surf-fishing along the troughs. Fish the pass on moving tide, and note Henderson Beach State Park requires reservations.
