The National Weather Service has rip current risk at low today with surf around a foot. Low risk does not mean no risk: life-threatening rip currents still form near piers, jetties and groins on the calmest days, so give those structures room and swim near a lifeguard.

Spanish Mackerel — The primary target along all beaches, cruising the Gulf shoreline and working the pier zones. Position along pier structures and where deeper water meets the beach. Accessible through the day with stronger activity during the tide transitions.
Bonita — Also a main beach and pier target, schooling near deeper structure and the pier ends. Early morning and late afternoon windows produce the best results, and they are showing consistent feeding response in today's conditions.
Redfish — In the mix near beach structure and moving water. Look for them in shallower areas around sandbars, cuts and tidal channels; they respond to current changes as the water transitions.
Yellowtail Snapper — Active in offshore waters beyond the nearshore zones, requiring boat access to reach productive structure and reef areas. They hold deeper and feed on bottom presentations.
Best approach today: fish the early morning or late afternoon and work structure and current edges rather than open water — on an average-solunar day the fish will be where the current concentrates them.
Optimal Fishing Windows
All three beaches run a morning high falling to a late-afternoon low. Pensacola peaks first at 1.66 ft at 7:02 AM, then Navarre at 1.72 ft at 7:21 AM — the widest range of the three — and Destin at 0.81 ft at 7:49 AM. Lows follow at 5:14 PM at Pensacola (0.45 ft), 5:22 PM at Navarre (0.50 ft) and 6:25 PM at Destin (0.16 ft). Target tidal channels and areas with active current flow. Rain chance here is 40 percent, the highest of the three, so keep the session flexible. Yellow flag, no purple. Destin
No municipal pier here, so it is East Pass charters or surf fishing at Henderson Beach. Spanish mackerel and bonita deliver the main beach action, redfish work the shallower structure, and yellowtail snapper are available offshore with boat access. Calm conditions and light northwest winds suit both pier-adjacent and nearshore fishing, and the 20 percent rain chance is the lowest of the three. Yellow flag, no purple.
