The best day of the week on the water. Southwest to south winds at 2–11 mph with waves of 0.7 to 0.9 ft, water at 84–85°F, and solunar activity rating high across all three beaches. Every location peaks overnight and falls through the entire day, giving you eleven to thirteen hours of continuous moving water. Flags are down as well: Navarre and Pensacola are green with purple, and Destin is yellow. Wade fishing is open everywhere.
Navarre and Pensacola have both gone green — low hazard, the calmest rating the beaches issue — after red flags Monday and yellow Tuesday. Destin holds at yellow, moderate hazard, so wade with a bit more care there. The catch is that Navarre and Pensacola are both still flying purple flags for dangerous marine life, usually jellyfish or man-of-war this time of year. If you are wading at either, watch your legs and your line, and avoid anything washed up on the sand. Destin has no purple flag today.
What's Active Today
Spanish Mackerel — The primary target along all three beaches. Work the pier ends, the deeper troughs and beach structure where concentrated current gathers baitfish. Peak activity comes through the morning and around the tidal transitions.
Hardtail — Running alongside the mackerel in the same zones. Present all day, with the strongest response through slack water transitions and anywhere the water is moving hard.
Best approach today: fish the morning and work the long falling tide through to mid-afternoon.
Optimal Fishing Windows
All three beaches follow the same shape today: an overnight high, then a long uninterrupted fall through to mid-afternoon. Pensacola tops out first at 1.44 ft at 1:34 AM, then Navarre at 1.45 ft at 2:47 AM and Destin at 0.66 ft at 3:56 AM. Lows land close together — 2:53 PM at Pensacola (0.24 ft), 3:08 PM at Navarre (0.41 ft) and 3:15 PM at Destin (0.11 ft). That means moving water from first light straight through the afternoon, and with solunar rating high and seas under a foot, there is no bad window to pick. Live tide times are on the tides page.

Navarre Beach
Spanish mackerel and hardtail are accessible through the morning and midday, with light southwest to south winds keeping conditions excellent. Deeper troughs, pier ends and beach structure offer the most consistent action, and the falling water into the 3:08 PM low keeps bait moving all day. Pensacola Beach
Spanish mackerel are the primary target, with the 1:34 AM high setting up the longest fall of the three beaches — over thirteen hours to the 2:53 PM low. Morning through midday holds solid potential and seas are minimal throughout. Concentrate on the deeper troughs and pier ends. Green plus purple here as well. Destin
Spanish mackerel and hardtail are showing excellent activity levels, and the 3:56 AM high should trigger responsive feeding with action continuing through the morning and afternoon. Light southwest to south winds and minimal seas make conditions ideal. Yellow flag here rather than green, and no purple. Verify current pier access with local facilities.
