East Pass Charter Conditions
Nearly flat seas and winds under 11 mph make for an easy run out through East Pass and a comfortable day offshore. Bonita and hardtail are holding in the nearshore Gulf where bait concentrations are higher — both are realistically boat targets today, and the morning periods produce better than the afternoon. The 9:16 AM high is a workable departure window. Worth knowing for later in the week: showers and thunderstorms become likely from Thursday, so if you are choosing a day, the front half of the week is the better bet. Half-day and full-day trips run out of Destin Harbor year-round; call ahead rather than turning up.
Henderson Beach Surf Fishing
With 0.7 ft surf, low rip risk and no purple flag, wading the trough is straightforward today. Spanish mackerel and bluefish are the primary targets along the beachfront, working the troughs and deeper transitions where current is visible. Spinner sharks cruise the same water — keep any catch out of the water rather than on a stringer at your waist, which is the single most common way anglers invite an encounter. Destin has no municipal pier, so the beach and the boats are the options. Early morning outperforms other periods, with a secondary window late afternoon into early evening.

From Thursday the pattern turns wetter: showers and thunderstorms likely Thursday with highs in the upper 80s, and Friday mostly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms likely and highs only in the mid 80s. Saturday turns partly sunny with a chance of storms. Rip current risk holds at low all week with surf around a foot throughout. The upside is that the fortnight of advisory-level heat has broken; the trade-off is more afternoon lightning, so build storm awareness into beach and boat plans later in the week.
