Swim near a lifeguard, stay within your depth, and keep clear of piers, jetties and groins where currents concentrate. If you are caught in one, do not swim against it: swim parallel to shore until you are out of the pull, then come in at an angle. If you cannot break free, float and wave for help rather than exhausting yourself. Moderate risk holds through Monday.

Hardtail — Good activity around the piers and nearby Gulf waters at all three beaches. Pier ends and current breaks hold the strongest concentrations, and they support solid action when you are positioned correctly.
King Mackerel — The larger offshore target, found away from the beach troughs and surf zone in deeper water and wider channels. Boat access improves your chances significantly over pier fishing.
Best approach today: fish the morning through early afternoon around the tidal peaks and work the pier and dry sand rather than wading deep, with rips at moderate.
